The Medical & Welfare Team are available at school every day to support the students and staff. There are six members of the team, and we work together at school to provide the medical, hygiene and welfare needs of some of the students/young people to enable them to access their education when they are at School.
We work in partnership with various therapists, for example:
- Physiotherapists/Hydro therapist
- Occupational Therapists
- Speech and Language Therapists
- Children and Young Peoples Nurse (School Nurse)
- School Doctors
- Social Care
- Community Teams
We also work together with the staff at school to ensure that the student’s/young people’s health and welfare needs are met in school or when out on trips and residential stays.
We provide support with medication and assist students with medical conditions, for example: diabetes, epilepsy and asthma. We provide care and support with clinical issues, for example: catheters, gastric feeds etc.
You can contact a member of the team by telephone on the main school number. You can also come in and talk to a member of staff if you prefer at a convenient time.
