The Bee Hive was launched in October 2013. It is a full time day provision that provides individualised learning experiences that develop key employability and supported living skills for students with moderate learning difficulties and ASD needs. Our aim is to provide individual learning programmes which enable students at all levels to excel educationally and vocationally. We strive to develop our young people’s independence by providing an enriched personal and social development programme; independent living skills; travel training; employability skills.
The Bee Hive is delighted to be the first special Sixth Form Vocational centre in Northamptonshire – paving the way for future SEN Post 16 provisions. At the Bee Hive we have a Work Experience Co-ordinator who places our students in local businesses. We are already achieving great success within the community with our young people in work experience placements.
The facilities are open to the local community and general public to provide an environment to help students develop the skills to move confidently into post school. They work alongside our staff and volunteers in the Cafe, Shops, Kitchen, Conferencing and Wellbeeing areas, learning a variety of duties in each area, raising their self esteem and confidence.
